History

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

The SDGs build on decades of work by countries and the UN, including the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs

Ensuring access, to quality education for all individuals regardless of their background or circumstances is a right. The United Nations has made it a priority to fulfill this mission by providing opportunities. Education plays a role in development as it equips people with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to address global challenges like poverty, inequality, climate change, and health issues.

The fourth objective of the Sustainable Development Goals focuses on reducing inequality both within and between countries. It highlights the importance of access to education as a tool for achieving economic and social integration. Investing in education cultivates a workforce. Prepares professionals for practical jobs and leadership roles. This enables them to make contributions to society and the economy at large. In today's interconnected world having skills is imperative.

Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals aims to provide students with an understanding of issues while fostering educational skills that promote responsible engagement and global citizenship.

To gauge progress effectively in education-related matters such as literacy rates and school performance the United Nations sets goals. Uses data-driven approaches. This allows for better policy development and resource allocation. Additionally strengthening cooperation, among governments is a part of achieving Goal 4.

We understand that addressing education challenges necessitates the cooperation of stakeholders including organizations, civil society, and private industry. We work together in partnerships to enhance education outcomes on a scale.
